What began as a mission-driven initiative under Ashrita Bio Foundation has grown into a dynamic and specialized institution — Ashrita Institute for Waste Management & Research — dedicated to advancing environmental services, training, and sustainable practices.
Rooted in community engagement and environmental awareness, the Foundation laid the groundwork by promoting responsible waste management and ecological stewardship. Building on this strong foundation, Ashrita Institute was established to take this vision further — transforming knowledge into action through structured training, professional certification, and industry-focused environmental solutions.
Today, Ashrita Institute delivers comprehensive Waste & Environment Training and Certification programs designed to equip individuals with the expertise required to address modern environmental challenges. Our courses cover key areas such as environmental laws, impact assessment, biodiversity, HSE, environmental auditing, waste management, and recycling — bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. With certified instructors, practical learning approaches, and globally accessible training options, we empower participants to develop critical skills in environmental management systems, risk assessment, compliance, and sustainability planning.

The Foundation begins convening students, research scholars, working professionals and entrepreneurs — the earliest form of the Industry Academia Congress we still aim to build.
2023
AIWMR incorporated as the technical wing
Ashrita Institute for Waste Management & Research Private Limited is established to deliver design, development, implementation and management of innovative solutions for private and public sector clients.
Accreditation
Recognised by DPIIT and registered under Udyam
Recognised as a startup by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, registered under the Government of India's Udyam scheme, and certified to an ISO quality management standard.
Expansion
International offices open in the GCC and West Africa
With the head office in Hyderabad, branch operations in Abu Dhabi and Lagos extend consulting support to regulatory authorities and private environmental service providers.
August 2026
CEWM signature certificate course launches

Message from the Founder's Desk
The level of technology and professional competency within the industry has advanced significantly, alongside frequent regulatory changes in the field of Environmental Sciences and Technology in India. Despite this progress, there remains a critical shortage of skilled professionals in the waste management and recycling sector. This gap highlights an urgent need to strengthen knowledge and capabilities through focused awareness, advocacy, consultancy, and training initiatives.
While Ashrita Bio Foundation continues to focus on rural academia & SME capacity building, Ashrita Institute for Waste Management & Research (AIWMR) plays a pivotal role as a catalyst between industry and academia. It is actively engaged in upscaling, upgrading & equipping capacity of aspiring students, research scholars, working professionals, managers, academicians, and entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to address existing challenges and bridge industry gaps.
Sectors such as Waste Management, Recycling, Environment Management are witnessing increasing demand, with growing opportunities to deliver impactful projects and programs across multiple countries.
