What this programme is for
Biomedical waste is the stream where the consequence of getting it wrong is immediate and human. It is also the stream where compliance most often fails at the very first step: segregation at the point of generation, by staff who were trained once and never again.
The programme covers the colour-coded categories and their disposal routes, but spends most of its time on the practical problem — building a system that holds when the ward is busy, the bins are full and the trained nurse is on leave.

A certificate is issued on completion, subject to attendance and the end-of-programme assessment. Certification is awarded by Ashrita Institute for Waste Management & Research, and is accompanied by internship opportunities, employment assistance and free membership of Ashrita Bio Foundation.
