What this programme is for
E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in the country and the one with the widest gap between formal rules and actual practice. Most of it is still handled informally, in conditions that harm the people doing the work and recover only the easiest value.
This programme covers the regulated route: how e-waste must be channelised, what a registered recycler is obliged to do, and how the EPR framework assigns responsibility. It also deals honestly with the informal sector, because a strategy that pretends it does not exist will not work.
